Services

Coryell County has combined Pretrial Service (personal bond) and Indigent Defense into one department.  However, the roles of Pretrial Service and Indigent Defense are significantly different.  Indigent Defense has the responsibility to ensure that those who lack the funds to retain counsel receive a court appointed attorney in a timely manner, consistent with Indigent Defense Commission’s guidelines and the Coryell County Indigent Defense Plan.  Attorney appointments are made based on guidelines set out in the Coryell District Court and County Court at Law Plan which is available at the Texas Indigent Defense Commission’s website.
