Indigent Defense duties are designated to the Indigent Defense
Coordinator by the Administrative Court. The Indigent Defense
Coordinator has the responsibility to ensure that those who lack the
funds to retain counsel receive a court appointed attorney in a timely
manner, consistent with the Indigent Defense Commission’s guidelines and
the Coryell County Indigent Defense Plan. Attorney appointments are
made based on guidelines set out in the Coryell District Court and
County Court at Law Plan which is available at the Texas Indigent Defense Commission’s website.
